Background

Ryan’s core areas of practice are personal injury, insurance law, medical negligence, professional negligence and historical and institutional abuse. He maintains a busy practice, principally appearing for individuals and self-insured entities in the Supreme Court of New South Wales and District Court of New South Wales.

Often briefed early in legal proceedings, Ryan’s clients benefit from his strategic input and technical insight. Prior to being called to the Bar in 2017, Ryan practised as a solicitor in a leading international specialist insurance law practice for 10 years. Clients value Ryan for his approachability, ability to quickly develop a rapport with others, including the Bench and his opponents, as well as the effort he invests into his matters to achieve best possible outcomes.

Ryan holds a Bachelor of Laws and Bachelor of Finance from the University of Newcastle, as well as a Professional Certificate in Commercial Arbitration from the University of Adelaide.
