Background

Maria enjoys a diverse practice and accepts briefs in civil, administrative and criminal jurisdictions. She is an experienced advocate, having appeared before various courts including the NSW Supreme Court, District Court and Local Court, as well as the NSW Civil and Administrative Tribunal.


Maria has conducted complex litigation and is known for her efficiency, conscientiousness, forensic judgment and attention to detail. She is also valued for her professionalism, her strong interpersonal skills and her inclusivity. Maria is a hard working, resilient advocate who performs well under pressure.


Maria’s past positions include working as a solicitor for the NSW Health Care Complaints Commission, senior solicitor at Legal Aid NSW and Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions, and an associate to the late Peter Zahra SC, Judge and Acting Chief Judge of the NSW District Court.


Maria holds a Master of Laws, a Bachelor of Laws and a Bachelor of Science (Psychology) from the University of Wollongong. She was admitted as a legal practitioner in 2015 and joined the NSW bar in 2024.
