James is a leading industrial relations and employment law barrister with a national practice, regularly appearing for employers in the Fair Work Commission, the Federal and Federal Circuit Courts, and the various state industrial tribunals.
He has extensive experience navigating industrial disputation and defending contractual, discrimination, general protections and unfair dismissal claims, and is valued by his clients for the strength of his advocacy, his strategic focus, and his collaborative approach to litigation.
James’ practice sees him regularly representing a number of Australia’s largest employers across the mining, shipping, aviation, construction, manufacturing, and education sectors.
James was called to the Bar in 2021, having previously worked as a Senior Associate in the employment law group of a top tier law firm and as a solicitor-advocate for BHP. He holds a Bachelor of Laws (Honours) and a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Sydney.
