Background

Cameron is a personal injury law specialist. He was called to the Bar in 2001 and practises in all areas of common law and personal injury litigation workers compensation, motor accident damages claims, public liability claims, dust diseases claims, and medical negligence.

Whilst Cameron has mostly acted and appeared as counsel in proceedings in the Supreme Court and District Court of New South Wales, he also has 20 years of experience as counsel in proceedings in the Supreme Court and Magistrates Court of the Australian Capital Territory.

Prior to being called to the Bar. Cameron practiced for eleven years as a litigation solicitor at Carroll and O’Dea Lawyers and was an Accredited Specialist in Personal Injury Law with the Law Society of New South Wales.

Complementing his core areas of practice, Cameron has also developed expertise in a broad range of other areas, including commercial law, criminal law, trade practices law, Family Provisions Act claims, civil aviation disputes, stolen generation, sexual assault and malicious prosecution claims.

Cameron maintains a solid track record of achieving positive outcomes for his clients and his instructing solicitors value his good judgment, legal acumen and commercial outlook. He is an experienced trial and appellate counsel particularly in lengthy catastrophic injury claims.

In addition to his practise as a barrister, since 2021 Cameron has acted as a Sessional General Member of the Personal Injury Commission in both the Workers Compensation and Motor Accidents Divisions. In this role, Cameron hears claims and writes decisions determining both liability and quantum, as well as writing decisions as part of Medical Review Panels reviewing the determinations of medical assessors.

Cameron holds a Bachelor of Laws and Bachelor of Arts (with Honours) from the University of New South Wales. He is a Director of the Italian Opera Foundation Australia whose mission it is to raise funds for assisting young and talented classical singers in Australia to study and develop their skills and talent overseas.
