Andrew D Campbell

Call 1999

Background

For nearly three decades, Andrew has successfully maintained a busy, Australia-wide insurance law practice. He appears mainly unled at both trial and appellate level across a broad range of jurisdictions and his clients benefit from the extensive skills and knowledge that he has acquired over this significant period.

More than half of Andrew’s practice has been comprised of acting for plaintiffs in long-running, high value and difficult medical negligence cases. The remainder of his practice is comprised of matters including common law, personal injury law, professional negligence, and general insurance-related litigation. Andrew also has extensive experience appearing in administrative law and judicial review matters.

Andrew is often briefed to appear in complex cases against Senior Counsel. His longevity of practice at the Bar and deep exposure in his core areas has seen him appear in hundreds of cases. With this background, Andrew has a strong ability to quickly identify, and highlight with precision, the key issues in a matter that are important for a judge to consider, and to negotiate powerfully with his opponents.

Andrew exhibits strong communication skills, and his clients commend him for his ability to effectively communicate often very complex medical and legal issues in an easy-to-understand and common-sense manner. He maintains good relationships with his instructing solicitors, many of whom are long-standing. Given the nature of his areas of practice, Andrew has developed considerable experience outside the courtroom and in alternative dispute resolution forums, such as mediations.
